Product Decorating Spotlight: Hot Stamping / Heat transfer Decals
To take on your product decorating needs for rigid plastic, glass, and metal parts, Unique Assembly & Decorating offers pad printing, screen printing, and hot stamping. With full command and control of these processes, we can offer our customers the best possible product decorating solution - which is typically the most economical. Of these services, today we are spotlighting hot stamping. Here are some advantages and common uses for hot stamping.
Great Option for Plastic Parts:
Hot stamping can be used on various substrates, including plastics, glass, wood, and leather. However, as a contract decorator, hot stamping plastic parts can be more practical. Hot stamping can be used for flat and curved surfaces. Hot stamping is commonly used to highlight or decorate raised letters or symbols for radiator or washing fluid caps for the automotive industry. Hot stamping is also commonly used to decorate caps and closures for the cosmetic industry.
Opaque & Reflective Images:
Hot stamping allows for opaque and highly reflective images that are not possible with pad printing and screen printing. Hot stamping is limited to one color images. Hot stamp equipment can be upgraded to apply heat transfer decals. Heat transfer decals are typically multicolor, pre-printed images transferred to the part in one pass from the heat and pressure of the hot stamping process.
Foil Durability:
Hot stamping is a very permanent process. When a part is marked with a properly formulated foil, it can withstand some very harsh conditions. When using a metal die on a plastic part, you can brand the part at the same time. So, if the color should fade or wear off the branded image will remain. Given foil durability, hot stamping is a great option for bulk / tumble packed parts.
Cost-Effectiveness:
With die cost and foil cost, hot stamping is more cost effective for medium and large volume projects.
We hope to hear from you regarding your next product decorating project.
Your Unique Team.
